This project as part of the post-professional architectural bridging program at TMU, involved reimagining a fictitious heritage building within an urban context, transforming it into a contemporary mid-rise mixed-use development. The existing concrete structure was preserved and extended vertically with four new levels in heavy timber construction, emphasizing material contrast and contextual sensitivity. The final proposal demonstrated a balance between conservation and innovation, maintaining the historic facade while introducing modern timber architecture and a rooftop terrace to enhance urban livability.
